About Jaquita Watters
Born in the small town of Dumas in 1957 thereafter moving to Lubbock, Texas until my parents moved us to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1962. Attending several schools in Colorado Springs area, high school at Ellicott School in 1975 along with Cosmetology school.
I met and married my husband, Chriss Watters September 22, 1975, after moving to different cities around Colorado we landed back in Colorado Springs, CO as I worked along side my mother, Betty Norrid in her restaurant, Betty’s Biscuit Hill Cafe until moving to Lake City, Co in 1987. Chriss’s job brought us to Crawford, Co in 1989 were we raised our young family. I had a small pocket camera in 2002 taking it on trips, entering some pictures in the local Delta County Fair. Receiving several ribbons and awards. Through the years I continued my employment in the surrounding area.
I met a new local wildlife photographer in 2009 who inspired me as she shared with me many different areas of photography, equipment, etc. My passion for nature photography grew as I continued to learn my craft, teaching myself all about different techniques, equipment, software. I decided to purchased a used digital pro-camera, saving up for my equipment one piece at a time.
In 2015 I was able to add more pro photography equipment to my collection. At the age of 57, I decided to retire from the working world along with my husband, turning my attention to my passion, “ Nature Photographyâ€
